Our duty is to remember and remind. To forget the past would dishonour all those who fought heroically to resist communism’s evil - it would also place us in danger of repeating its mistakes. pic.twitter.com/aApNWGORpd

Look at Solzhenitsyn's testimony of what happened under Stalin. And of course there are many people who tried to rebel against being red - in Czechoslovakia and in Hungary. And the tanks rolled in over them.

In 1917 when Lenin and the Bolsheviks performed their coup in Russia, once they had taken over the telegraph offices, they were able to begin that substitution of lies for truth which characterised communications in Communist countries for seventy years.

Communism was never a revolution from the bottom. Communism was an intellectual idea, by not very good intellectuals, for the power of a Marx and a Lenin and the Bolsheviks over the rest of the people. pic.twitter.com/LGdHUmFBhV
